I’m in Chicago. I have a college education and work experience in marketing. There aren’t that many jobs posted online and I’m sure the few ones up are getting 1000s of resumes. I am not even getting back emails from recruiters. I’ve been applying for jobs everyday for 4 weeks. Entry Level Stuff
I’m trying to network my way into jobs but so far nothing.

TELL ME WHAT YOU THINK PLEASE:

FYI:

I THINK SHE MUST HAVE MEANT TO SENT ME JUST THE “OFFER OF EMPLOYMENT LETTER”, NOT THE EMAIL THAT WAS WRITTEN IN IT, WHICH STATED THIS:

“I added a bit for Kelly (THAT’S ME) becuase I want her to be the go-to person for marketing tools implementation.

My problem with this offer letter is that it doesn’t even begin to give them a concept of what they are actually working for. It looks like something close to $13 per hour. That bit about bonuses is so empty and scary.”

HERE IS HOW THE “OFFER OF EMPLOYMENT” LETTER WENT:

I’M CONFUSED ABOUT THE “COMPENSATION” PART NOW, AS FROM WHAT WAS WRITTEN IN THE EMAIL TO ME, WHAT I STATED FROM ABOVE…

HERE IT IS, IT GOES:

Dear Kelly:
This letter is a formal offer of employment with ABC COMPANY, (hereinafter referred to as “Company”). This letter is strictly an offer of employment and should not be construed as a contract for employment nor services for a definite period of time.
Employment with the Company is at will: your employment may be terminated by the Company at any time and for any reason, without notice, and you may leave the Company at any time and for any reason. The points listed below will outline the specifics of this offer:

JOB SCOPE & TITLE: Your job title will be: Account Manager. Your responsibilities are to initiate communication between yourself and our members and to build relationships that allow us to serve their needs with the portfolio of products and opportunities we offer. Additional responsibilities may be added as required, particularly in the area of implementing our marketing tools in member businesses.
SCHEDULE: Your schedule will be approximately 37 hours a week which is Monday through Thursday 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Friday 7:00 a.m. to noon. Changes in your schedule must be arranged in advance with management.

COMPENSATION: Your base compensation for normal Account Manager activities will be $13.00 per hour less appropriate deductions as you specify and/or required by law. After a 90 day probationary period, you may be eligible for a performance and compensation review
Bonuses:
Your minimum performance expectation is eight (8) complete orientations per day until your accounts have all received the orientation with an expectation of achieving at least 12 per day average. As you complete each stage of the orientation, you may be entitled to a bonus and incentive. This exact bonus may vary from time to time depending upon the program and focus of the account management activities. Bonuses are earned only after your minimum performance is met. You must be employed at the time of payment to receive any earned bonus.

In consideration for the total compensation package and authority, you are bound by the terms of a non-disclosure and conflict of interest agreement (signed separately), which is binding during your employment and for a period of 3 years from the date of employment termination.
BENEFITS: Normal paid vacation benefit for the first two years is one regular work week of regular wages per year of successful and continuous employment. In other words, if you normally work 35 hours per week, your paid vacation compensation earned at the end of each of the first and second years is one 35-hours work week at your current hourly rate of pay. After 2 years of successful and continuous employment, 2 workweeks per year will be earned. Vacation begins to accrue after your probationary period of 90 days. Any additional time off is at the discretion of your supervisor.
